The Dogwood Patch Newsletter for August 2007
Recent
Events
Hey Y'all:
Well,
we've made it through July. We celebrated the lives & deaths of those who keep
the freedom going in this country. Kenneth & I celebrated our 15th wedding
anniversary on the same day. We had our CHRISTmas in July. We had our 1st
stitch group stitch-in. (Purple Iris Needleworkers). And we had our 1st night
stitch-in. We still have a few spots open in the August 25 night stitch-in 6:00
- midnight so if you intend on coming to it you need to let me know before we're
full.
Got A Group of
Stitchers?
Speaking of the Purple Iris Needleworkers…anytime your stitch group wants to meet up here @ the patch, we can arrange it. The only drawback is that I can only have 11 ladies due to space. Or if you want to bring some family & friends to celebrate a birthday, just let me know. I had a little birthday stitch-in once @ the other Dogwood Patch before I bought it. What better place to spend a birthday than @ the cross stitch store! Feel free to bring the cake, balloons, gifts & have it here. Or whatever the reason or for no reason you want to have a little group get together here @ the store, just call or email me. We just have to keep it out of the way of Camp Iwannastitches & classes. If you need or want to spend the night there's the Holiday Inn right in front of the store for that convenience.
Designers and Automatics
Lets talk about favorite designers. I think you all know that mine is Little House Needleworks & Country Cottage Needleworks. I have them checked on my monthly automatic list with Hoffman so I get all the new ones @ the 1st of the month. The others I have on my list with Hoffman are Bent Creek, Blackbird Designs, BrightNeedle, Butternut Road, Calico Crossroads, La D Da, Lavender & Lace, Lizzie Kate, Lynn's Prints/Diane Graebner, M Designs, Mirabilia, Prairie Schooler & Shepherd's Bush. All the other designers I carry depends on what the chart looks like as to whether I order it. This has me wondering, what's your favorite designer? Would you like to be on a monthly automatic to receive the newest things your favorite designer comes out with every month? If so, just let me know & I'll mail them to you every month. Or I should say the months the designers put out new designs. Not every designer has a new design every month. But when there are I will send them to you. I'll need the designers you want to receive, your name, address, phone number & credit card number with expiration date. I'll start this in September. Or if there are designers that you look for & intend to buy when you come here to the store please let me know so that I can add them to my list.
Floss Automatics
I've also been thinking & had requests for a floss of the month mailing. To start off, my thoughts are running with Crescent Colours over dyed cotton floss. But not because it's my favorite, because almost every new chart you pick up calls for Crescent Colours. I will go in alphabetical order. I will send out 8 flosses per month for $16.00 & $1.20 for shipping. I'm trying to keep it under $20.00 per month. If it's mailed to a Georgia address you'll have to pay tax of $1.12. So if you live in GA your total will be $18.32 per month & if you live in the other states your monthly charge will be $17.20. I would like to start this month, the last week of August. The 1st package will contain 1 skein each: 12-Grain, Almost Auburn, Amber Waves, Amethyst, Antique Lace, Apple Fritter, Argyle Socks & Aunt Marie's Violet. If you'd like to join this monthly automatic send or call your info & I'll add you to the list.
Whimsical
I just got an email from Sharon of Crescent Colours. She's telling me to go to www.littlehouseneedleworks.com & click on Whimsical. Ok, let's see what we get……Oh my goodness gracious! It's a double doozie!!! I knew Crescent Colours was expanding into frames….here's the 1st picture! I've got to try to get her on the phone. She's in the midst of moving so I may not be able to reach her. She's here, I mean she's there! She's all moved & is working in her new office already, ahead of schedule. Somehow that doesn't surprise me. She's coming out with individual frames for the Flower Cottage Thread Packs & a big frame that will be for all 6 of them together September 1st. In addition to lots of other frames she's calling shabby, chic & primitive. She says there are multiple styles, sizes, embellishments & finishes. I'll update you in the next newsletter when I'll know more.
Little House Needleworks
And the 2nd part of this double doozie is the new line of Little House Needleworks charts coming the end of August. The website says this line will add a bit of whimsy & fun to our stitching. Woo-Hoo! Bring it on! I love this. I want to stitch it right now! Oh come on August, hurry up, move along. LOL Y'all let me know if y'all want to get these so I'll know just how many to order.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……
The double doozie just got doozier! Since I firmly believe these people (Crescent Colours & Little House Needleworks) don't sleep @ night I thought I'd see if anything changed last night while I was sleeping. I clicked on "thread packs". Yep, while I'm sleeping, they're working I suppose. Coming in September, new silk thread packs. We already have the seasons out called Spring Sampler & Summer Sampler. Now we will have 3 coffee designs followed by 3 tea designs. AND, there's a peek @ another of the Crescent Colours frame line called The Family Tree.
Country Cottage Needleworks
Since
I was taking a few minutes to glance @
www.littlehouseneedleworks.com
, I thought I would also mosey on over to
www.countrycottageneedleworks
Prairie Schooler
Lots of new things have come in since the last newsletter. I have a few new Prairie Schooler charts: Pumpkin Patch, Cranberry CHRISTmas, Button Up & Thanksgiving Comes Again, in addition to the 2007 Santa.
Patriotic Stitchin
The new Glory scissor fob by Shepherd's Bush has been selling like hotcakes. And to accompany it the red/white/blue Gingher scissors as well as Kelmscott Design's Lady Liberty needle minder. The 3 go together very well. You can use them all while you're stitching the new Shepherd's Bush called Life & Liberty. Let's get patriotic Y'all!

Blackbird Designs
Normally the Loose Feathers Club by Blackbird Designs just isn't my thing. But I have to admit I think I like Beneath the Sunlit Sky. There's some pretty pink flowers on this one. And the pretty blue fabric called Sea Fog is striking my fancy as well.
Other Items
Everybody seems to like the 2 new stockings by Rosewood Manor. Cranberry Row & Cranberry in Pines are lovely. Can you say BEADS!?! 1 takes 3 packs & 1 takes 5 packs. So with all those beads you know they're going to be gorgeous when they're done. And speaking of stockings, we can't leave out the family cat & dog. Sekas & Co. has A Kitten's Stocking & A Puppy's Stocking that's just too cute for words.
Glendon Place is sending me the new Halloween designs. Whooo's There, Franky the Thinker, Mr Bone Jangles & Vinny the Vampire. I've been getting in new Fall, Halloween & CHRISTmas ones lately.
Hoffman
I was waiting on sending this newsletter because I know my monthly automatic from Hoffman would be arriving today or tomorrow & I wanted to let y'all know about some of the new charts that are in it. But since this newsletter is getting so lengthy & I've already mentioned some of those new ones, I guess I'll end it here.
Until
next time,
Terrie
P.s. Feel free to pass this newsletter along to your
friends and family that might be interested in following The Dogwood Patch
