The Dogwood Patch Newsletter for September  2007

Was That A Stork At My Window?

Hey Stitchers!

We have a new member of the family to announce.  It's Joey.  He was born about the last week of June.  He weighed 1.8 pounds the 1st time I weighed him.  His blue eyes have turned green.  He's now up to 2.3 pounds.  He's such a joy to have around.  He's a full bundle of energy in the mornings & in the evenings.  I considered naming him Spitfire which is why this picture of him is so blurry.  Ever told a 2 month old kitten to hold still for a picture?   It shows him wearing a pink twisted cord collar.  That's when I thought he was Chloe.  After the vet visit announcing it's Mr. Chloe I changed his name to Joey & he hasn't worn pink since. He's such a sweet & loving kitten.  Later in the evenings after he's wound down some when I'm stitching he likes to sit on my shoulder. It's his favorite place to perch & purr & keeps a careful eye on my moving hands.  I probably said more times then one since my Trevor died February 28 I would never again have another pet.  The phrase "never say never" applies here.  Joey has really helped my grieving & broken heart.  I find myself wishing I hadn't waited so long.

More Designers – Just Nan/Homespun Elegance/Silver Lining/Stoney Creek

In the newsletter last time I talked about designers.  I've added another
designer to my automatic list.  Now I get all the new designs Just Nan comes out with.  I got Pearl Angel with that gorgeous frame.  And look @ this CHRISTmas Biscornu ornament.  The big sparkly "jewels" that go on it are just stunning.  And I love the flowers on the top row of CHRISTmas ribbons . And it simply says "JOY".  Don't we just love the word Joy?  I've also added to my monthly automatic:  Homespun Elegance, Silver Lining & Stoney Creek. Let me know if there are others of you who would like me to carry a designer who's products you want to purchase every month & I'll get them on my list.
dogwoodpatch@gmail.com or 800-598-4614 or just pop in the store in person & let me know.

CHRISTmas, Halloween, & Other New Stuff

I got Sweetheart Tree's 12 Days Of CHRISTmas numbers 5, 6, 7 & 8.  Those are really cute.  I've also gotten in by request more Halloween designs.  I've been ordering every Halloween design that comes out in the Hoffman Friday update.

I really love Ladybug Lane Designs- Praise Loudly .  The 2 sheep in this piece are the cutest I've ever seen.  Just underneath them it says "Blame Softly". Praise loudly, blame softly, advice we can all use, but this gentle reminder is so easy to forget.  It's hard for some of us to live by no matter how hard we try.

Just Cross Stitch Magazine

Something else new here is I've begun carrying Just Cross Stitch Magazine. I wasn't going to carry any magazines because, well, to tell the truth, quite simply, I'm just too tempted by everything in them.  I love all the designs in there & want to stitch them all.  OMG!  Here's Josh, the UPS guy with something very heavy!
Speaking of Josh, just a little tidbit of info here, Josh & I are kin, he has Savannah, Joey's little sister.  Only all Joey's siblings matched.  They were all gray striped except him.  So how he came out solid black out of a herd of gray stripers I'll never know.  He's just unique!  Like mother like son ;)
And also speaking of Just Cross Stitch magazine, it's the
2007 Just Cross Stitch Ornament Issues !  Yeehah! No wonder it was such a heavy box.  I want to look @ them so bad but I've got to get them in the mail to all the anxious stitchers that have been sitting on pins & needles & camping out by their mailboxes just waiting for them to arrive.  So I better hurry up & type whatever else I want to type & get going on the mailings.  Good thing I've been pre-typing on this newsletter as I'm about to speed type anything else I have to say in a hurry.  If you haven't reserved your copy, don't worry, I did order a few extra so if you want one too just call, email or as I type my husband is putting them online so they can by ordered that way.  So your issue can be in the mail as well, it's just a click or phone call away.

Little House Needleworks

I got the last Scripture Thread Pack.  Boo-Hoo.  It's called Good Deeds.  1
Timothy 6:18, Be rich in good deeds.  It has nice floss colors in it.  They
are called Tufted Yellow, Persimmon, Olive Branch, Brandied Pears & Candied
Yams.  Don't you just love the names of floss colors these days?!?!  It may
be the last one but I will keep it an ongoing monthly automatic for those
who haven't been getting them.  If you decide you would like to get a
Scripture Thread Pack every month for 12 months you can sign up @ any time.
Just let me know which one you want to start with & I'll get them to your mailbox about the middle of every month with your credit card.  For those of you that don't know, a thread pack is a chart plus the floss.  And as always, shipping charges are minimal.

I just got the thread pack Autumn Sampler using the Belle Soie over dyed silks.  Such luscious fall colors!
There's a big pumpkin on this one with a couple of black birds keeping an eye on it.  I also got the 1st of the 3 Coffee thread packs with the silks included.  It's called Cappuccino.  There will be 3 tea thread packs following the 3 coffees. I also got some frames in from Crescent Colours.  I got Penelope, Juliet, & Sean.  You can see these on Little Ballerinas, Curly Q Ewe & Little League that I showed you in a previous newsletter.
I got the 3rd thread pack in the series from Country Cottage Needleworks
called Daisy.  So we have Violet, Peony & Daisy now.  Yet to come are Rose,
Bluebell, & Cottage Garden.

Pine Mountain – October Pillow Kit

Speaking of monthly automatics, I have the Pine Mountain October Pillow kit in.  It's so cute for those of you Halloweenies out there.  But it's not too Halloweeny.  Is that a word?  Well, it is now.  I'm adding it to the dictionTerrie.  LOL  If anyone wants to sign up for this monthly automatic just let me know which month you want to start with & I'll get them to your mailbox every month until you have all 12 of them.

Camp Iwannastitch - September

Camp Iwannastitch is coming up on the 21st of this month.  I can hardly wait!  I didn't have camp in July or August so I'm really ready for a weekend of stitching, laughing, yakking, & eating.  There are still openings in November but October is full.  So if y'all want to sign up just let me know.
I haven't gotten the dates for 2008 cleared with the Holiday Inn yet.  I will do that toward the end of the year & get the dates posted on the website.

Classes – Horn-o-Plenty

Classes, we're having a class going on as I type.  We've got 6 ladies sitting over there stitching in the Cross Stitch 101 class.  In addition to learning to stitch on linen over 2, even those who know how to stitch have learned so much from taking this class.  You go around the store learning all about the stuff in the store, the whys, the hows, & the what-ifs.  We have a wide variety of classes.
We're going to be working on 2008 classes soon so when we got those decided upon they will be up on the website too.

New Section on Website

Lots of new things have come in since the last newsletter.

Maybe you have noticed some of them in the New section of the website.  I am trying out placing a lot of the new things in the online catalog and showing the catalog on the New section of the website. But I get so many things (and sometimes new things daily) that I can't possibly get them all put in the catalog, so be sure to drop by the store as often as possible and check the Just Arrived rack.

If you are one of those who can't wait to come to the store to buy things,  then I know the online catalog will make it easier for you to just click what you see and add it to your cart for easy checkout.  And if you pay by credit card, you don't have to worry as your data is protected over the secure connection.

The New section will not go away and will still have happenings and other items of interest, so be sure to check it frequently.
Let me know what you think about the "new" New page.

Happy Stitching Y'all!

Terrie

P.s.  Feel free to pass this newsletter along to your friends and family that might be interested in following The Dogwood Patch happenings.
