Specialty Stitches Alert!
Hey Y'all:
I just came across something that promises to be really cool. I don't have all the info yet but here's what I do have. The designer Jeannette Douglas is releasing a collectible series of 8 new charts released bi-monthly from September 2008 - November 2009. Specialty stitches alert! Chapter 1 is called Mosaic Muse that will be mailed to you in September. It says "In the rhythm of the needle we can find peace of mind". With this chart you will get the front & back covers & a stitching time sheet. And then in October you will be mailed the next one & so on. Here's a pic (click for more details):
Hello Mother, Hello Father
April Camp Iwannastitch has come & gone. We sure had a good time. Wish you all could've been there. Not another one going on until August. Wow! That's a long time. But we're heading into the busy season so hopefully I won't have time to think about missing camp. I do love it so! Also gone is the Saturday Stitch Day that we had. But we'll have another one June 28th. I still have spaces open. Let me know if you want to join in.
Moms & Cats
My mom has cancer. It's a large tumor on her
kidney the size of a soccer ball. They will be taking the whole left kidney.
We will appreciate all prayers. I will have an update in the next
newsletter. Praise the Lord they think it hasn't gotten around to her lungs,
etc. And her bones & blood are clear.
Living
With One Kidney (Fact: 1 in 750 born have one kidney)
And speaking of Mom….just in & so cute is Mother's Love. It's the May chart from Calico Crossroads with the black cats. It's a mom with 2 babies. It's just so very adorable. I just love her black cat charts.
And speaking of cats….next month my little Joey kitten turns 1 year old. I can't believe it was just a year ago when his mom brought him into the world. So after his birthday I suppose I will no longer refer to him as a kitten. He will be a full grown cat. Tell me somebody, where does the time go? In honor of Joey turning 1, how about a 1-day-sale? So when the clock strikes midnight on June 26 until midnight June 27 everything will be 30% off. So be thinking of what you want to order by phone 800-598-4614, email or clicking online. Or come in @ give Joey a pet & wish him happy birthday. You know he'll love to see you!
Just Arrived
I love Virtue Samplers from Homespun Elegance. It's 3 charts but the one that most appeals to me is Largest Virtue Sampler. It has the words Honest, Faithful & Patient. Definitely words to live by.
Stoney Creek came out with a chart called Believe. I don't even know how to describe it. It's just breathtaking. There's the word "Believe". Then there's a CHRISTmas tree with a star above it with a dove holding an olive branch in it's beak flying up to the star. It's just so pretty. Also from Stoney Creek is a book of baby charts called Welcome Baby. It shows a big one that says: "The best things in life are PINK". Isn't that the truth?!
Bent Creek came out with Seasons of Change Row. It's the long alphabet with a snowman, house, lighthouse & a tree with a pumpkin under it. I've done one of their alphabet rows & it was fun.
Val's Stuff came out with April Showers. This one will make you smile! It's an orange cat jumping over flowers which are stitched stems & leaves but the blossoms are beautiful clay buttons.
Flower Boxes by The Drawn Thread is such a beautiful design. I have the Gloriana silks packaged up for the chart & they are just gorgeous. If you're looking for a pretty floral design, I would definitely go with this one.
We're slowly trying to get fabric up on the website. Any time you want fabric & you don't see it on there just let me know what you want. Chances are I may have it. But if I don't I will order it. Just let me know what you want & it's yours. That pretty much goes for everything. If you don't see it just ask, I want to get it for you. Great service is my main goal.
Finishing Class?
I'm wanting to put together a finishing class for Maidens of the Sea by With My Needle. Are there any takers? The teacher wants to see if there are class attendees before she goes any further with making kits, assigning class dates, etc. Please email me back & let me know if you have an interest. Your needle book & scissor fob will need to be stitched before the class. I do have all necessary articles for the chart….fabric, floss, seahorse, thread rings & what have you.
Here's a cute chart. It's by Twisted Oaks Designs. It's A Patchwork Garden Pincushion Ball. For all of y'all that likes to do finishing, this looks really neat. I also have the floss packs for this chart. The floss is Dinky Dyes silks. The fabric I have some of & the rest has been shipped to me.
Sampler 1852, a kit from Permin of Copenhagen, my friend Sylvia had me get in for her. Y'all are really into this Quaker looking stuff & got me loving it too. It's a cream color of linen with the most beautiful dusty blue floss. And another chart my soul sister Tracy had me get in is by Ink Circles called Dutch Beast. See, all you got to do is ask. Your wish is my command. Let me fill all your cross stitch desires. And also, since I don't have time for the bulletin boards & blogs & such anymore the way I used to, it's a way of letting me know what's hot out there. I have to depend on y'all sometimes to let me know what's going on out there beyond the realm of this little store.
Itch...Itch...Itch...Stitch
Ok, is that enough for this newsletter? Did it give you the itch to stitch? Come on guys & girls let's get those needles threaded & get to it. I'll send another newsletter next month & I'll also remind you of the big day of June 27. Also next month I might give you another peek @ my Quaker CHRISTmas I'm stitching on. I'm making some progress.
Happy Stitching Y'all!
Terrie
